Choose Mirror Types
Aluminum mirrors and silver mirrors are the most popular types used in commercial and hospitality projects. While silver mirrors are more expensive than aluminum mirrors, their superior reflectivity makes them a favored choice for high-end hotels, spas, and restaurants.
Conventional silver mirrors feature a copper sulfate buffer layer, which often contains lead, along with a protective paint backing behind the silver layer. In contrast, copper-free silver mirrors use titanium dioxide to replace the copper sulfate layer, resulting in a more environmentally friendly option. Copper-free silver mirrors can last more than five years without developing black spots or edge deterioration. OkayMirror primarily uses copper-free silver mirrors for luxury hotel projects.
Recent advancements in mirror technology have further enhanced the protective layer by applying an epoxy coating over all the layers, increasing corrosion resistance. This type of mirror is commonly used in projects for cruise ships.

Choose Mirror Size
Our engineering and marketing team has done the research of a list showing the monthly search volume for different mirror sizes. This information can be beneficial if you’re starting an online e-commerce business and looking to select a popular mirror size.
If you’re choosing a mirror size for a bathroom, for width, stay a few inches narrower than your vanity; for height, aim for 30–36 inches based on your ceiling clearance and users’ heights.

Mirror Thickness Guide
the larger the mirror surface area, the thicker the glass needs to be to prevent warping and distortion. Unframed mirrors also typically require greater thickness than framed ones since the frame itself provides structural support.
- 1/8 inch (3mm) Lightweight and flexible; used for craft projects, decorative accents, small framed mirrors, and costume or novelty items. such as mirrors on the door of cabinets, decorative mirror tiles and so on.
- 3/16 inch (5mm) A popular mid-range thickness for standard wall mirrors, bathroom vanity mirrors, and framed decorative mirrors in residential settings.
- 1/4 inch (6mm) The most common thickness for general-purpose mirrors — full-length mirrors, backside mirror of medicine cabinet, and most retail/commercial display mirrors. Offers a good balance of durability and weight.
- 3/8 inch (10mm) Used for larger wall mirrors, gym and dance studio mirrors, and unframed mirrors that need to hold their shape without a supporting frame.
Edgework Options
The edge finish is a key detail in customizing your mirror — it affects both safety and style. Common options include the clean and modern flat polish, the elegant bevel for a prismatic effect, the subtle chamfer for frameless mirrors, and the ornate ogee for classic designs. Whether your project calls for minimalist or decorative, there’s an edge type to match every vision.

Choose Lighting Areas and Types
Lighting Types
Front lighting offers direct illumination on your face, reduces shadows, and is ideal for makeup application, grooming, and skincare. It also provides brighter and more functional task lighting, making it a suitable replacement for overhead bathroom lighting.
On the other hand, backlighting (also known as backlit) creates a warm, ambient atmosphere, giving the mirror a “floating” effect on the wall. This adds depth and a modern, premium aesthetic to the space. Additionally, backlighting is softer on the eyes and is perfect for creating relaxing environments.
Lighting Areas
Choose from our most popular lighting configurations — each designed to create a distinct look and deliver targeted illumination. Whether you prefer inset LED border lighting, dual vertical bars, or edge-aligned LED border lighting, there’s a style to match your wish.
But we don’t stop there. If none of these standard options fits your vision, our team can create a fully custom lighting layout tailored to your exact specifications.

Choose Mirror Frames
Polystyrene Frames
Polystyrene (PS) is an eco-friendly material that doesn't contain hazardous substances like formaldehyde, often found in wood frames. PS frames are cheaper than wood or aluminum and can be made to resemble metal or wood. Additionally, cameo effects can be easily fabricated on PS frames for decorative purposes.
Aluminium Frames
Aluminum frames, extruded into various profiles, offer versatile structures for different LED lighting effects while providing stable support for large, heavy mirrors. Multiple finish options — painting, powder coating, wire drawing, and anodizing — give them an upscale appearance.
Wood Frames
High-end hotels favor wood frames for their rich texture and antique tones, creating a refined atmosphere that complements luxurious interiors — making them increasingly popular among designers. Okay Mirror offers a variety of wood finishes, including ebony, walnut, and cherry. Contact us today for support.
Stainless Steel Frames
Stainless steel frames are prized for their clean, tidy appearance and easy maintenance with no rust concerns, making them popular in public venues and high-humidity environments such as ocean-going vessels.
Touch Switch or Touchless Switch
Touch Switch
Tap once to turn on, tap again to turn off — it’s that simple. The touch-sensitive sensor is embedded directly into the mirror surface, giving it a sleek, seamless look with no visible buttons or knobs. Ideal for those who prefer a clean, minimalist design.
Touchless Switch
No contact needed. Simply wave your hand in front of the sensor to activate or deactivate the light. Perfect for maintaining mirror cleanliness and reducing fingerprint smudges — a great choice for hygiene-conscious users or high-traffic bathrooms.
Motion Sensor Switch
Hands completely free. The built-in motion sensor automatically detects when someone enters the room and turns the light on — then switches off when you leave. No tapping, no waving, just effortless, energy-saving illumination every time you walk in.
Protective Film behind Mirrors
Not all LED mirrors are built with your safety in mind — but ours are. Every OkayMirror comes with a protective film applied to the back of the mirror, a detail many manufacturers skip to cut costs.
This film works in two important ways. First, it reinforces the structural integrity of the mirror, significantly reducing the risk of breakage during shipping and handling. Second — and most critically — if the mirror is ever accidentally broken, the shattered pieces won’t scatter across your floor. Instead, every fragment stays bonded to the film, just as you see in the image, keeping dangerous shards contained and protecting your family from injury.
It’s a small addition that makes a big difference. Because a premium mirror should be as safe as it is beautiful.
Choose LED Driver
The LED driver is the power backbone of every LED mirror — it converts AC mains power into the stable DC current that your LED strips in mirrors need to operate reliably and safely. Choosing the right driver directly impacts light quality, dimming performance, lifespan, and compliance with local electrical codes.
What Wattage Do You Need?
Driver wattage must match — or slightly exceed — the total wattage of the LED strips installed in the mirror. As a rule of thumb, we recommend selecting a driver rated at least 20% above the actual LED load. For example, if your mirror’s LED strips consume 30W in total, a 40W driver is the safer choice. This headroom prevents the driver from running at full capacity continuously, which extends its service life significantly.
Do You Need a Dimmable Driver?
If your mirror will include a dimming function — whether controlled by a touch switch, wall dimmer, or a smart home system — you will need a dimmable LED driver. We offer two industry-standard dimming options:
- TRIAC Dimming (Phase Dimming) The most widely compatible option for residential and hospitality projects. TRIAC drivers work with the majority of wall dimmers already installed on-site, including forward-phase (leading edge) and reverse-phase (trailing edge) dimmers, as well as MLV and ELV types. This makes TRIAC the go-to choice when your end customer wants to use an existing dimmer switch without replacing it.
- 0-10V Dimming The preferred solution for commercial, hospitality, and smart building projects where centralized lighting control is required. A separate low-voltage signal wire (0–10V DC) adjusts the output from 0% to 100%, offering smoother, flicker-free dimming across a wide range. This protocol is natively compatible with building automation systems such as Lutron, Dynalite, and Clipsal — making it the standard choice for hotel guestrooms, spas, and large-scale multi-room installations.
Non-Dimmable Driver
For mirrors that only need on/off switching — no brightness adjustment — a standard non-dimmable constant-current or constant-voltage driver is sufficient. This is the most cost-effective option and is well suited for mirrors used in commercial restrooms, healthcare facilities, and other functional environments where dimming is not a priority.
Input Voltage: Does It Matter?
Yes. Confirm the mains voltage of the destination market before specifying a driver. Our drivers support a wide input range of 100–277V AC, making them compatible with both North American (120V) and international (220–240V) markets out of the box — no need for voltage-specific versions.
Safety and Certifications
For projects in the US and Canadian markets, ensure your driver carries UL/cUL certification. For bathroom and wet-area applications, the driver enclosure should be rated IP44 or above to withstand moisture exposure. All drivers we use in our LED mirrors meet these requirements as standard.
Not sure which driver configuration fits your project? Our engineering team can recommend the right driver spec based on your mirror size, LED strip wattage, dimming requirements, and destination market. Contact us and we’ll take care of it.
Choose Package
Packaging isn’t just a box — it’s the last line of defense between your mirror and the real world. We offer packaging solutions built to meet two internationally recognized standards, so you can choose the level of protection that matches your distribution method.
ISTA-1A (General Shipment Standard) is designed for mirrors shipped via standard freight or container — ideal for wholesale and B2B orders. Packaging is tested through a sequence of 10 drops across 1 corner, 3 edges, and 6 faces, ensuring your product survives the handling conditions of typical international logistics.
ISTA-2A (E-commerce & Parcel Standard) applies the same drop sequence but with higher drop heights — because parcels sent through courier networks like FedEx, UPS, or Amazon Fulfillment face rougher handling than palletized freight. This is the recommended standard for DTC (direct-to-consumer) brands and Amazon sellers.
Our packaging structure combines a custom-molded EPE foam inner liner, a protective film layer, and a double-wall corrugated outer carton — engineered to keep your mirror intact from factory floor to your customer’s front door. Not sure which standard fits your business model? Our team is happy to advise.
